Surely San Francisco must be synonymous with great food. It seems as though bad restaurants are virtually extinct in this city because we could walk into almost any cafe or restaurant blindfolded and the food would be extraordinary.
St Francis Fountain had us virtually camping on their doorstep waiting for them to open (true story) after they introduced us to the dream shake and what could probably be the best vegan burger around. Delphina Pizzeria could do no wrong with their simple pizzas crafted from the best ingredients on a a crisp and fluffy cloud of a pizza base. The famous Tartine Bakery justified their epic queues with pastries that were so good they made me literally go silent (this is a rare thing for me) in appreciation. Maverick showed us how the grown ups do brunch and set the benchmark pretty high early on in the trip. In regards to the mexican food in San Francisco there isn’t much more we can say other than it was all aaaaaaaahhhhmazing. Finally, the thing that is an absolute saviour when you’re experiencing extreeeeme jetlag is delicious creamy coffee and I owe many thanks to Blue Bottle Coffee for being the only reason I was able to maintain consciousness.
